The University of Texas – Pan American Visitor Center

Edinburg, Texas

The first building project to develop out of GFF’s 1999 master plan, the UTPA Visitors Center provides a new “front door” for the campus. As a welcome center for the University, the building includes a large reception space with information about student life, a video room for multimedia presentations, and offices for recruiters to meet with prospective students. Conference, office and storage functions for support staff are provided as well.

The Visitors Center creates a physical link to all the related student services such as financial aid and career counseling, allowing for “one stop shopping.” Development of the site includes a new primary entrance to the campus, with a central lawn and palm court, and provides 80 much needed parking spaces.
